Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC will host Daegu FC in the 17th round of the 2023 K League 1 on Wednesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
Jeonbuk made it three wins out of three at home under acting head coach Kim Doo-hyun in their K League 1 Round 16 match against rival Ulsan on Saturday, 안전놀이터 March 3, with goals from Cho Kyu-sung and Moon Sun-min.
Jeonbuk’s next opponent in the 17th round is Daegu, who are currently unbeaten in their last five league matches (3 wins, 2 draws).
Jeonbuk leads the all-time head-to-head record against Daegu with 30 wins, 12 draws and 10 losses, but they have only met once this season, losing 0-2.
Jeonbuk has been unbeaten at home since May and has maintained its goal-scoring form, notably scoring multiple goals in every game.
Jun Amano, who assisted the final goal with a sharp cross upon his return from injury, and Cho Kyu-sung, who made his first field goal of the season, will be looking to score again in this match to see if Jeonbuk can continue their multi-goal winning formula at home.
“We will play with confidence, but we will not be complacent,” Jeonbuk acting head coach Kim Doo-hyun said of the upcoming match against Daegu after the Ulsan game, “We will give everything to win so that Jeonbuk fans can once again celebrate with the players in Jeonju Castle.”
Meanwhile, Jeonbuk organized the game as Gochang County Day.
Gochang’s specialty watermelon and bokbun juice will be available for tasting at the east side plaza before the match, and Gochang County Governor Shim Deok-seop and Gochang County Chairman Lim Jeong-ho will kick off the match.
In addition, Jeonbuk will hand out paper debts prepared by Park Jin-seop as a gift to the first 6,000 spectators.
