Two-hitting Japanese major leaguer Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels) pitched well in his first start against the local rival Los Angeles Dodgers, but suffered a loss.

Ohtani started the game 꽁머니지급 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, USA, on April 22 and pitched well, allowing one run on five hits in seven innings with two walks and 12 strikeouts, but was unable to prevent his team from losing. The Dodgers reportedly saved their best for last in the offseason, and are ready to make a move for Ohtani. This was a highly anticipated start for Ohtani, as it would be a showcase for him.

Facing the Dodgers for the first time, Ohtani threw a mix of fastballs, slider-sweepers, cutters, and splitters in excess of 100 mph, striking out batters in succession.
