The game attracted a lot of attention as it was Ohtani’s first start against the Dodgers since joining the major leagues, especially after The Athletic released the results of a poll of big leaguers the day before, in which 57.2% of the 96 respondents chose the Dodgers when asked which team they thought Ohtani would play for next season.
Ohtani is eligible for free agency after this season. When he hits the free-agent market, he is expected to sign a contract worth more than $500 million for the first time ever.

Facing the Dodgers for the first time, Ohtani threw a mix of fastballs, slider-sweepers, cutters, and splitters in excess of 100 mph, striking out batters in succession.
Ohtani retired 12 batters on strikes. It was Ohtani’s fifth 토토 가입머니 즉시지급 double-digit strikeout game of the season and pushed his season total to 117, moving him into second place in the American League in that category.
He did allow a run-scoring home run in the fourth inning to leadoff hitter Freddie Freeman on a low cutter that cleared the center field wall. It would be Ohtani’s only run.
Without support from his offense, Ohtani was unable to get the win, going 0-for-3 at the plate with a walk and a hit batter. The Angels got another solo home run from Miguel Vargas in the top of the ninth. Ohtani suffered his third loss of the season (6-3). His ERA is 3.13.
